WIPO
Definition:
A specialized Geneva-based agency of the United Nations, created in 1967 to promote international cooperation in intellectual property protection.
Filing Receipt
Definition:
When an application is submitted via e-TEAS, the Office immediately issues a confirmation of filing via e-mail that includes the serial number and filing date, and a summary of all the data provided by applicant in the application.
International Bureau
Definition:
The secretariat of the WIPO which, among other functions, centralizes information of various kinds relating to the protection of intellectual property.
Benefit Claim
Definition:
The claiming by an applicant in a nonprovisional application of a benefit of an invention disclosed in a prior-filed copending (under examination at the same time) provisional or nonprovisional application.
